![]() T. D. WalkerT.D. Walker is the author of the poetry collections Small Waiting Objects (CW Books, 2019), Maps of a Hollowed World (Another New Calligraphy, 2020), and Doubt & Circuitry (Southern Arizona Press, 2023). Selections from Doubt & Circuitry were included in Amanda Dawn Christie’s August 2023 composition for her work, Ghosts in the Airglow, which was trantmitted from the HAARP Ionospheric Research Instrument in Alaska. She hosts and curates poetry programs for shortwave radio, most recently Line Break. Situated between the AM and FM bands, shortwave radio can reach listeners around the world. Walker wanted to bring poems to shortwave radio both to introduce listeners to poets whose work she admires and to explore how listening to the poems as presented through the medium of radio affects our experience of them. After completing graduate work in English Literature, Walker began a career as a software developer. She draws on both her grounding in literary studies and her experience as a computer programmer in writing poetry and fiction. Recently, she returned to teaching college writing classes. When she’s not working or spending time with family and friends, she’s most likely to be found in the garden, somewhere near a radio, or at her desk writing letters. And one day, she would like to get around to such poetry-related projects as setting up a hyper-local FM station for broadcasting readings and coding an online simulator as a companion to her poems on phone phreaking.
